History Is Made: RTFKT x Fewocious NFT and Sneaker Drop Sells for Eye-Popping $3 Million

London-based RTFKT Studios has emerged as the clear frontrunner in the race to speed up the process of mass adoption and mass awareness of digital streetwear.
On Saturday, the wildly creative digital sneaker and apparel brand made waves by selling the most expensive piece of digital streetwear in history, a series of NFT video pieces made in collaboration with artist Fewocious that generated an eye-popping $3 million on Nifty Gateway.
The FEWO SHOE drop consisted of three tiers of NFT pieces:
The FEWO SHOE RARE, which cost $3,000 and was minted in editions of 279
The FEWO SHOE EPIC, which cost $5,000 and was minted in editions of 207
And the FEWO SHOE LEGENDARY, which cost $10,000 and was minted in editions of 121
All three editions sold out.
Each buyer receives a physical pair of the kicks if they still own the NFT by April 10.
One of the whales who purchased more than one of the red hot NFT pieces in this collection is none other than @westcoastbill aka Bill Lee, who we covered last week in our post on Tillavision and Chief Keef’s NFT drop.
RTFKT is coming off a massively influential NFT piece called the METAJACKET, an NFT garment distributed in different styles across NFT platforms like SuperRare.
Buyers of the METAJACKET received exclusive rights to wear the garment on gaming platforms like Decentraland and social platforms through Dress X.
Fewocious made headlines in the NFT world recently by making $370,000 for a piece of crypto art on his 18th birthday in January.
