🚀🚀🚀: Tillavision's Latest Hit Takes NFTs to Mars, This Time with Swae Lee
We told you. 💎🙌 Hold your Tillavision NFTs. 🙌💎
Rumfoords favorite and breakout hip hop NFT all-star Tillavision, who we covered last month, is following up his NFT with Chief Keef with a new one for another contemporary rap legend: Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd.
Titled “First Sounds on Mars,” the 3D animated video is the “Black Beatles” rapper’s first digital art collectible, open for bidding now on SuperRare.
And Tillavision took the ludicrously popular new art form to new heights with this one, not just by bringing NFTs to Mars but with a little cameo from a major Earth mogul.
The video opens on the just-landed Perseverance rover, panning out quickly from its camera eye to reveal the forthcoming Tesla Cybertruck doing donuts.
Behind the wheel? Swae Lee.
“The art direction is inspired by Swae's ability to transcend genres and classification, combined with the breaking news we've just landed the first space rover on Mars,” Tillavision explains.
“Naturally, Swae, a trend setter, is in the first handful to make [it] there and naturally he is doing donuts within a crater in a Cyber Truck.”
The video has Tillavision’s trademark luxe vibe and mischievous youthful energy, like a lovable prank on the art and music industries.
But it’s the addition of Elon Musk that takes both the luxury and the mischief to a new level here.
“Playing off the lyrics from Dance Like No One’s Watching, (‘Someone tell Elon to link up, blow loud in the Tesla it’s loud like the speakers’,)” Tillavision explains, “and the fact Elon has himself tweeted ‘ Try playing Powerglide in your Tesla at volume 11’ I place Elon in the second Cyber Truck, enjoying some playtime on Mars.”
At first glance we thought the video was a reference to Rae Sremmurd classic “Swang.”
But “Powerglide” has even deeper roots in the Muskverse. Apparently, it’s one of Grimes’ favorite songs. Maybe that’s where Elon heard it?
If you ask us, Tillavision is the first artist to capitalize on the NFT craze while also capturing the fun and chaos of hip hop, putting him at the intersection of streetwear and music and art at a moment when that mix makes millions.
We’ll be watching every Tillavision NFT to see where this goes. Keep reading!
